I have recently come back from a three week (holiday) / study trip to Madrid, Spain. Those three weeks were some of the best weeks of my life so far! We were studying Fashion Retail in an amazing little university called Villanueva - Centro Universitario. The lecturers at the University were some of the most inspiring and admirable people that have ever taught me, as they were always willing to give advice and inspiration. Other than an intense course at the university we explored the Fashion scene in Madrid (I posted some photos from the fashion walks that we went on, in a previous post). One of the things I liked most about Madrid was the amount of boutiques that there was and the vintage feel of lovely small streets. Other than the intense (but amazing) University course we explored the city non stop for three whole weeks!
Besides shopping, visiting the Warner Brothers theme park stood out as a highlight of the trip! The place was nostalgic of our childhoods after watching Warner Brother TV programmes as children, and over all the place reminded me of Florida. We were children for the day! To top it off and to stick with the childish theme - For lunch I had chicken dinosaurs, chips and beans, it was the perfect day.
Retiro park is a huge park outside the University that we were studying at - it is the perfect place to relax after a busy schedule. There are boats that can be rented for sailing around the pond or alternatively (my preference) sunbathe and not do any rowing... and there are lots of little turtles in the water! One of the most atmospheric moments on the trip was visiting a temple at the top of a hill that many of the locals climb up to, in order to watch the sunset at night time. A couple were married at the temple in the sunset which was one of the most romantic locations for a wedding that I have ever seen.
